The Demo Day Disaster
One presentation. Two audiences. The wrong red light.
Wolfy’s polished corporate demo is also live on his furry Twitch channel. Stop the accidental broadcast, recover the presentation, and decide how to answer an unexpectedly personal question.
How the story begins
NarratorTuesday, 1:55 PM. Wolfy joined Quarterly Demo Day early. Three months of dashboard work waited behind a carefully arranged OBS scene. The microphone was tested, the shirt was respectable, and the participant count was climbing toward a deeply intimidating one hundred and fifty.
WolfyReal-time metrics. Beautiful graphs. Useful scaling insights. I have rehearsed every transition. My real tail is tucked beneath the chair, my Bluetooth tail is nowhere near production, and I have finally learned to anticipate the obvious ways a presentation can become strange.
NarratorAt two, Sarah Chen introduced him. Wolfy began confidently. Minutes later, his phone filled with messages from FurryTech friends. They mentioned his camera, his ears, and a live stream. He glanced at his preview and discovered the forgotten furry headband.
WolfyThe headband is embarrassing, but the word live is worse. I am presenting on Zoom, not streaming to my community. At least, that was the plan. Do I acknowledge a possible broadcast issue now, or check the destination while keeping the demo moving?
